Please inform your Team Manager as soon as possible if you are unable to attend a game. This allows us adequate time to organise fill-ins as we will no longer be able to add fill-ins to rosters on game night; any changes to rosters must be made at least 48 hours prior.
NOTE: Please note that players with outstanding fees are not able to take the court until fully paid.

ACCEPTED FORMS OF PAYMENT
CITY OF BLACKTOWN BASKETBALL (CBBA) REGISTRATION
The player’s registration is with the City of Blacktown Basketball Association (CBBA). The registration lasts for a period of 12 months commencing from the date a full payment is made. It is the player’s/parents’ responsibility to ensure this registration is up to date. A player who takes the court while unregistered will incur a $60.00 fine as well as costing the team -3 competition points. Sydney Huskies Basketball Inc. will not be absorbing this fine.
NOTE: CBBA registration is separate to Sydney Huskies Basketball Inc. registration and fees.
For more information on CBBA registration, please visit www.blacktownbasketball.com.
UNIFORMS
All Huskies players must abide by the CBBA’s Uniform By-Laws. The prescribed player jersey and shorts kit must be worn by all players participating in domestic competition. Kits can be ordered by sending us a message on any of our social media channels or via email. A one-off payment of $105.00 inc GST is required at the time of order. Delivery time is approximately 4-5 weeks. Jersey numbers are assigned by the club. Other Huskies apparel can also be ordered however only the player jersey, player shorts, and training jersey are required.
BENCH DUTY
All players’ parents/family members (18 years or older) are asked to assist at the scorer’s table at least once throughout the season. Team Managers will provide a bench duty roster each week. If you can not attend the game you are allocated, please advise the Team Manager so it can be swapped for another game. If you are not sure how to do bench duty, speak to your Team Manager or Coach and they will arrange for someone to assist you. We understand that families have work commitments and will try to roster around these commitments. We also know that parents and families like to watch their children play so please ensure you complete your bench duty so others can enjoy watching the game and don’t get stuck on bench duty every week.
Per the CBBA By-Laws, “Failure to adhere to by-law 6.1 may result in a $100 fine. Where a team fails to supply a scorer, that team will have no right of query or appeal in relation to any matter pertaining to the scoring of that game.”
Sydney Huskies Basketball Inc. will not absorb this fine; it is the responsibility of the parent/family member that does not complete bench duty to pay the fine. Players/families that incur a fine will not be permitted to play until the fine is paid.
Team Managers are not required to do bench duty as they are at the games to assist the coach, assist parents with the bench, and assist the Sydney Huskies Committee when required.
SOCIAL MEDIA RELEASE
Sydney Huskies Basketball Inc. have social media accounts used as a space where we share players’ photos and videos of our training, games (subject to CBBA policy above), and club-sanctioned events.
DUTY OF CARE
While the utmost care and necessary precautions will be taken, Sydney Huskies Basketball Inc. and our volunteers are not there to supervise the player off court.
This is especially important as the player may be injured whilst playing a game. Committee Members, Coaching Staff and Team Managers are not at the stadium to mind players but rather to guide, develop and coach the players about basketball, fair play, and sportsmanship.
If the player is injured in a game you must report it to the Team Manager who will note the incident/injury via an incident report.
Also part of duty of care is ensuring that the player has safe and suitable means of getting to and from training and game nights. It is the parent/legal guardian's responsibility to provide a means of transport for the player.
CODE OF CONDUCT
Sydney Huskies coaches and club officials hold valid Working With Children Check certificates. The club upholds the 5 core components of child safety in its organisational leadership, governance, and culture as defined by the NSW Office of the Children’s Guardian::
a. The organisation publicly commits to child safety and leaders champion a child safe culture
b. Child safety is a shared responsibility at all levels of the organisation
c. Risk management strategies focus on preventing, identifying and mitigating risks to children
d. Staff and volunteers comply with a code of conduct that sets clear behavioural standards towards children
e. Staff and volunteers understand their obligations on information sharing and record keeping
Furthermore, all club officials, coaches, players, parents and spectators are required to adhere to the CBBA’s Code of Conduct and Zero Tolerance Policy, copies of these documents can be found on the CBBA website here. Failure to comply or breaching these policies may lead to suspension and/or expulsion.
If a player or parent has an issue or requires clarification on a matter, they are to advise or seek immediate assistance from the Team Coach in the first Instance. Should further assistance be required, a player or parent may seek assistance from the Team Manager or a Sydney Huskies Committee Member. All correspondence in the first instance should be referred to the committee via email. The Sydney Huskies Committee, if and when required, will seek assistance from CBBA. The Huskies Committee will remain impartial and treat all correspondence with fairness and confidentiality.
The positive support players and parents give the team is crucial to its continued success. Destructive comments and/or behaviour aimed at coaches, players, Team Managers, Sydney Huskies Committee Members and other clubs in the association whether verbal, written, or on social media is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. Our club officials are all volunteers; there is no greater reward for their time and effort than seeing the players enjoying the game of basketball, playing as a team, and showing great sportsmanship.
